Dental implants the best way to replace missing teeth. Dental implants can also be utilized to create dental implant dentures or the All on Four fixed teeth. Dental implants provide outstanding support and stability for dental prosthesis. Patients from Deer Park Texas come see Dr. Nugent for their dental implant needs.

The reason for this great stability is that the dental implant replaces the root of the missing tooth. The dental implant is simply a tooth root replacement. Dr. Nugent can then place the appropriate structure on top of the implants. The dental implant is made out of titanium. The implant is placed in to the jawbone where the bone will grow up to and fuse with the titanium. Now the implant is securely anchored into the jaw. The teeth Dr. Nugent attaches to the implant look natural because they come out of the gum tissue just like natural teeth.

Dental implants are very robust, stable, and long-lasting and are designed to last a lifetime. Dental implants will never need a root canal and will never get decay.

What does getting Dental Implants involve?

First, you will need to schedule an appointment to visit with Dr. Nugent. We will take a 3-D Conebeam CT X-ray to determine if you are a candidate for implant dentistry. This advanced X-ray allows Dr. Nugent to evaluate the bone morphology and examine vital anatomical structure all on the computer. Dr. Nugent will then “digitally” place the dental implant onto the computer screen and look at the implant placement in three dimensions to verify that this will be a successful implant placement.

Once everything is good to go you will be scheduled to come back for your implant surgery. Some patients choose to be sedated for their implant surgery while others prefer to be completely awake. The reality is that having a tooth extracted is a much more invasive procedure then a dental implant placement.

Dr. Nugent will completely numb the area so you will feel no pain during the implant placement. The dental implant is placed into the bone and the allowed to heal for several months.

Once the bone has fused to the dental implant Dr. Nugent will “uncover” the implant and place a healing collar on the implant to start to condition the tissue. Then in two weeks you will return for your implant impressions so that the abutment and porcelain crown can be fabricated.
